Gate 11 Ideas & Creative Business

If you’re familiar with Human Design, this next sentence will make sense. If not, you might be going whaaattttt…but maybe you’ll still find some gold in this post!

I have Gate 11 in my design, which brings me ALOT of ideas. This used to be a little frustrating when I was younger - unaware this was a gift in my design, I would personally pursue every idea (or try to) that came to me.

It would make business super overwhelming.

It took me awhile to realize this gift has other applications.

The flow of creative ideas and inspiration is so helpful for me when I am working with clients - when paired with the intuitive energy of my design, it allows me to really dive in and work with all the potential and possibility in other people’s businesses.

This is when I feel the most lit up and energised, and for me it really feels like I am working in the higher vibraton of this gift. If I don’t wait for the right time, or try to run every idea that arrives myself, it can feel a bit chaotic and create overwhelm for me.

I wanted to share this because I know what it is like to be a multi-passionate creative business owner. I know what it’s like to have so much swirling around you and how hard it can be to focus on the present in order to actually kick some goals.

I’ve worked in soooo many creative businesses where there is a constant stream of distraction coming through the business owner that all the ideas in the world are amazing, but it’s identifying the gold that matters.

And I don’t mean the ‘million dollar idea’ - I mean the idea that sits in your soul and actually energises you. Not the one that looks good on paper, felt fun when you first dreamed it up but has you tearing out your hair.

When you are constantly distracted by every possible direction to run in, and you don’t take any action TODAY, it’s a bit like spinning your tyres in the mud.

Progress is made in taking micro-actions in the now.

For businesses with a particularly creative angle, often the rules just don’t apply. The same strategy doesn’t apply. You might find a day at the beach is more productive as a ‘planning session’ than running your day like a corporate office. Or that might be your jam!

Given there is a lot of noise and let’s face it, ‘approval’ around business looking a certain way, it can take a strong mindset to push past this and find what truly works for YOU - and to actually go with it.

I’m an artist, a creative and I LOVE working in creative businesses. I’m learning that for me, my energy flow is not linear. Whenever I have tried to make my work look like a typical work day, it creates alot of frustration for me.

All of my success has come from being in the flow of my energy - the unplanned moments of where I was just creative.

And yet I will often fall into the trap of trying to ‘do it like they say I should’ - whoever ‘they’ are.

The truth is, this always creates a lot of anxiety for me. And shuts off the energy flow. My energy flow is feeling excited to create and see momentum happening. I love to cut down to the things that matter and focus on those.

I have little time for following trends - my intuition is my best guide and it’s taken me awhile to really integrate that.

I just really want you to know that the way you are running your business, in the way that actually feels so good for you - and by that I mean everything around you just flows with more ease and joy (even on the days when the sh*t hits the fan) - is the right way.

You can ignore all the noise that says otherwise.

And if you’re in the trenches at the moment, maybe there are some things you can take off your plate? There might be things to outsource OR there might be things that you just want to stop doing.

Let this be a little dose of encouragement to let go of those things - because my love, when you do this you aren’t quitting.

You’re making space for the magic that’s to come.
