Villain Era - Loading
In Human Design, frustration is a key indicator for Generator types being off-kilter. This will feel different for everyone, but I think when you’re frustrated, it can lead to feeling resentful, envious or angry. Frustration can be a mix of these feelings and they don’t feel good. What it’s telling us is that something needs to shift - and we can listen now or later.
Generators are sacral beings - we are powered by our deep sacral responses and the access to the consistent life force energy this brings.
This is juicy creative energy - it gives us the power to go out there and do stuff. When we’re lit up and in alignment with this, it’s zingy and sparkly and you feel really GOOD.
When you’re going against your sacral YES, it can very quickly deplete you and put you into a less than magnetic state. You might just want to curl up under a blanket and nap for awhile…more to avoid the things that are sucking your soul dry than out of tiredness.
We lead with our bodies.
In this ‘living between the ears’ era - I mean staying sendentry in your head, working, without moving much - it is so easy to be disconnected from our body and natural responses.
This can move into anxiety, feelings that are just ick in our body and we can begin to overthink. Your body is your guide, it’s telling you what feels good and what feels like a no. When you think about it, all the distraction and noise is occuring in your HEAD, not your gut. Your gut is quite simple - it will go yah or nah.
So I do believe with all of our conditioning and noise in the outside world that only reinforces our anxiety and fear, that we need some little tricks to reconnect with our body response and initiate us into living in alignment.
One of these, perfect for people pleasers, is to go Villain Era.
Unapologetically begin to make decisions and take action from a place that feels good to you - regardless of the fear to be nice, good or responsible.
Does this sound drastic? Maybe!
But in reality, only those of us playing it safe will be freaked out by that - the daredevils are already jumping off into the ocean while we’re here asking if it’s safe and tentatively dipping a toenail in.
We need to embody our badassery. The truth is, going with your natural energy flow isn’t actually that villain-esque but you’re probably going to feel like it is so labelling it and making it a bit fun can actually help.
That way you can make it something you’re aware of, try it out and in short, write a permission slip to shake things the hell up.
What does a (soft) villain era look like?
Setting some boundaries - you can start slowly by simply setting an intention and saying ‘my energy is no longer available for this’
Finding your “evil sidekick” - ie the ones that trust and support you, share your BIG BIG dreams and goals with them and then keep the rest secret, like your master plan. Only the dedicated minions get let in on that mwhahaha.
Doing what feels good for you! Want to have a hot bath, chill and listen to spa music at 1pm on a Monday? Do IT! Want to put creative play before your inbox? JUMP IN THERE YOU BADDIE. Want to disappear off socials for half the day and ignore your DMs? YESSSSS.
Pick something that you’re a bit afraid to say no to….but secretly want to. And commit to it. It’s good to build up your skills in your new villain era (ie make your nervous system feel safe) and just pick one thing to work on at a time. You’ll build that muscle up, discover the discomfort didn’t kill you and newsflash, when you actually align, so does everyone else around you (even if they find it a bit hard at first!)
Have compassion for yourself and for others - okay so not typically ‘villain-esque’ but it is a little be rebellious to actually offer yourself compassion so I am putting this in the daring and dangerous box - while you set this new tone, have compassion for you and for anyone else who does a double-take at your new approach. This isn’t being walked over, it’s allowing space for the new you to bloom.
Do something that is a guilty pleasure - you wouldn’t be in your villain era if you didn’t get a little bit wicked. Now, while this could go in a totally different direction hint nudge wink…in your work and life - what can you do that is something that would bring a little bit of the partttty to your everyday? Seriously, could be as simple as some fancy new stationery and a mid-week treat!
One final thing - the biggest thing that gets in our way making shifts is the old chestnut: “ERMMMAGAWWWD what will people THINK?’
Well, what are you thinking about right now? I bet it’s more about YOU than anyone else. Guess what? EVERYONE ELSE IS THE SAME.
We are ALL thinking more about ourselves than we are about other people (in this context)
If you do make a change, the chances are some people might be disappointed. But it’s not going to feel nearly as bad as continually and consistently saying no to the things that really bring you to life.
So what are you waiting for? Are you ready to practice your evil laugh?
Go on, I dare you.
